Job Description
Our client is a prepared foods business supplying the UK
retailers with premium chilled food products. The business is
at the forefront of product innovation within the category in which
it operates and is highly regarded by its retail customers.
This business unit is experiencing significant investment and is
looking forward to a period of continued growth.
As Purchasing Manager you will be responsible for a small team and
all indirect purchasing for the site. This is an ideal
opportunity for an experienced purchasing professional to formalise
procedures and processes. Little has been done in this regard
so it offers an exciting challenge for someone who is keen to put
his or her procurement expertise into practice and raise the
profile of this function within the supply chain arena.
An essential part of the success of this purchasing role will be
the development of internal relationships and the marketing of the
purchasing function and its performance and impact within the wider
business. You will possess excellent communication skills and
you will be a good project manager; this skill will be utilised in
leading cross-functional teams, maximising supply base
contributions.
