This really is a one off opportunity to work with one of the UK's high profile FTSE 100 companies in the food industry.  It promises the opportunity of working within a high calibre team and a fantastic reference point on your CV.  The technical team pride themselves on the lengths they go to research each product category and deliver premium products with a diversity of choice in numerous categories.

This is an excellent opportunity to work with a high profile business in London.  With a strong technical background in the food industry you will have worked in detail with a category be that meat, fish, chilled food, food to go, bakery etc.  You set high standards in terms of quality of product and your own work procedures and processes.  Along with your technical expertise, your skills will be understanding a category, what its drivers are and how to ensure your ranges are highly competitive in the market place.

You will have worked with a supply base ensuring full compliance to externally set standards either by a retailer or other governing body.  This would involve auditing and being in close contact.

Your personal skill set will include:

  • Sophisticated and professional communication acumen
  • The ability to influence and engage across cross- functionally with colleagues
  • Strong technical understanding  with an eye for innovation and commercial acumen
  • The ability to influence and engage with colleagues, customers and suppliers

We are interested in people from different product categories.  The key here is knowing your category well, working to top level quality standards and having the gravitas and skills to engage and influence your peers and external contacts. Ideally you will have a technical qualification or if not, significant experience in the food industry is essential.

The requirements:

  • Technical experience in the food industry in retail or manufacturing.
  • Experience of multiple categories.
  • Auditing exposure.
  • Detailed knowledge of BRC accreditation.
