Interim Engineering Jobs

Interim Food engineering jobs are very varied with engineers being able to transcend different product categories with relative ease. We are looking for contractors and interims to cover roles from Chief Engineer, Project Engineer, Process Engineer through to Shift Engineer levels. Focus interim's have got involved in a wide array of projects from new build and capital investment into general engineering management and process improvement. Length of contracts does vary but the average has been six months.

This is one discipline where previous food experience is not always necessary - as an example extrusion experience in non food has direct and relevant credibility for the food industry - what is essential is recognising it is FMCG and there are health, safety and food standards which must be delivered against.

The Site Engineering Manager asked for our help when a major cap expenditure project was sanctioned at the same time as winning a new major customer. The remit for the Interim Project Engineer was to focus purely on the cap ex project working in close conjunction with the Site Engineering Manager. All was delivered to the timescales agreed upfront.

A Senior Interim Engineering/Project Manager was required to work on the closure of a site and transfer the existing kit to a different location without shorting on any customer orders. The individual we placed in the role has exceptional management skills maintaining focus and motivation at the site being closed and installed the machinery in the new site. Due to the nature of the machinery being installed and the existing skills training programmes were put in place as only a small number of the engineers wanted to relocate.

The project was so successful the client retained their services for an extended period to work on restructuring other existing lines resulting in increased efficiencies and customer service levels.
