Interim Sales jobs

The interim commercial function offers significant opportunity and challenge. Our interims are hired for a variety of reasons, covering a role vacated by a promoted employee, to cover a gap when someone has left or covering maternity, absence, or a sabbatical. As with other interim jobs there is a requirement to fill the interim sales vacancy quickly and we have built up a strong cadre of Commercial interims who can cover roles fronting retail, foodservice, B2B and indeed B2C. Product knowledge is always a benefit, but frequently our clients will be more interested in a candidate's knowledge of the sector and their relationships with certain customers. It is essential our interims can demonstrate strong credible relationships with the customers and be happy for these references to be validated.

Recent successful projects have included

After a negative meeting with a retailer one of our clients contacted us needing a senior Interim Sales Manager who had worked with a specific retailer within their category. They were close to loosing the account and needed someone with credibility to avoid loosing business worth in excess of £4m. We placed this senior interim who had credible relationships with their customer and undoubtedly turned that relationship round and grew the account. After the initial assignment the individual went on to work on a project in a different area of the business securing a number of new accounts.

A client in a niche category wanted to develop specific retailer links and they came to us on recommendation to source a commercial specialist with strong business development skills. This was achieved by the interim we placed along with the training, development and coaching of junior staff within the existing sales function who had not worked on retailer accounts.
